Rules
The citizenship photo page asks for a JPEG from 70 KB to 3.5 MB, preferably 1200×1600. The paper photo is 35–40 mm by 45–50 mm with the face 32–36 mm. The background is neutral or light grey. Glasses come off unless there is a medical reason, and then the lenses are untinted. Do not edit out moles, wrinkles, scars, or red-eye.
The same materials say online photo services are not recommended. A separate visa photo page was not found, so this file is only partly confirmed for visas.
Do
- Export a JPEG near 1200×1600, between 70 KB and 3.5 MB.
- Use a light grey background.
- Leave facial marks as they are.
Don't
- Do not wear glasses unless the medical exception applies.
- Do not assume every visa uses the citizenship page.
- Do not claim Home Affairs accepts an online service.
